The First “Woe” |Revelation 9:1-12. Wednesday, September 2nd

In Luke 10, Jesus sent 72 of His disciples ahead of Him to all the towns and villages that He was about to visit. He told them to heal the sick and to tell each town, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.” They returned to Jesus with joy saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!” Jesus responded, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

When we come to Revelation 9, the sound of the fifth trumpet, we see a star fall to the earth and locusts that strike like scorpions released from “the bottomless pit”, but the focus is still on Jesus’ authority and He promised that His authority would keep us from harm.

Join us tomorrow night as we discuss the first “woe” and see that Jesus is in control, that the purpose is still repentance, and that God’s heart is always for His people.
