We have seen that difference/being foreigners, really holiness, is defined by submission. So, what is submission? Before submission can be viewed by our actions it has to be established in our hearts. It’s humility, meekness, in many ways it’s trust. What I want us to see tonight is that our submission is not ultimately to our leaders, the authorities, the government, or even our employers as tonight’s text discusses, but our submission is always unto God. Our trust is in God. We don’t have to trust our leaders, we must submit to them because we trust God. We don’t have to agree with our bosses, but we must submit to them because we trust God. All our relationships with each other are to be lived out of our trust in God.
