Peter began the conclusion of his letter to the church preparing for the suffering of persecution by calling the leaders to lead like Christ. Peter made himself equal with them, pointed them once again to the joy of the promised return of Christ and then, he exhorted them just as he had once been exhorted by Jesus: feed, tend and lead the flock. In beautiful symmetry, Peter takes those he shepherds to the same place His Shepherd had taken him.
