This Sunday our youth leader Amanda Mackie shared the message using Hebrews 12:1 as her text:
This morning I hope to be able to encourage each of you in some way, but to also offer a challenge. Hebrews 12:1 says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge cloud of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip away every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up” The cloud of witnesses is full of testimonies of people who lived lives committed to God. They had their own struggles and difficulties, but put their trust in God and lived lives where they heard God’s voice, walked in obedience, He was glorified, and men were redeemed. Their faithfulness is a constant encouragement to us. And we have been given the same opportunities to live that life. Because we can see what God has done up until now we need to continue to allow ourselves to be challenged to not slow down and to keep running the race before us. It is a race that did not start new with us, but one that God began before us and one that will continue after us.
