We will be receiving the Lord’s Supper together during the 10am service this Sunday, June 12th. When confronting the church at Corinth about their lack of reverence in the way they partook of the Lord’s Supper, Paul wrote “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup”. I ask that each of us will take time this week to examine our hearts, to ask the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin, righteousness and judgment and to prepare ourselves to not just eat and drink as our ritual but to truly be able to do partake together in reverent remembrance of Jesus’ body and blood, death and resurrection. Please join me in praying Psalm 139:23-24 throughout the week “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” May we eat and drink together this week in a manner that is humble, reverent, joyful and obedient.
