In 2013 we are committing ourselves to a yearlong study of the Sermon on the Mount. In addition to studying the Sermon on the Mount on Sundays, we are going to be studying the book of Mark at Wednesday night Bible study. The plan is to study Jesus’s teaching about the Kingdom of God and Jesus’s life that lived out the Kingdom at the same time. In this way we believe that we will hear Jesus teach and see Jesus fulfill the teaching at the same time. We have chosen a reading plan to begin 2013 that will help in our immersion into Jesus’s life and teaching that Youversion refers to as “The Essential Jesus”. Their description of the plan reads:  “In 100 carefully selected passages from the Bible you will discover who Jesus is and why he is so significant — even life transforming. Through both Old and New Testament readings you will discover why God sent Jesus, what Jesus taught, how he treated people, why he did miracles, and the meaning of his death, the significance of his resurrection, and what the Bible says about his second coming.” We invite you to join us in this reading plan and pray that this will be a year in which we will devote ourselves to hearing Jesus’s teaching, seeing Jesus’s actions and becoming Jesus’s disciples. May the Word of God shape us into citizens of His Kingdom and lovers of the King.

There is a file attached below that contains a printable version of the reading plan, but you may also follow along using the youversion plan found at the link below, the only difference is that we made our plan 6 days of reading each week instead of  7.
