Our second in a series of four messages on the Holy Spirit, this week we discuss “the power of the Holy Spirit”. The reality of the Holy Spirit is that He lives within us, the Spirit of the Living God, the One that hovered over creation, that raised Jesus from the dead and indwelled the first church on the Day of Pentecost lives within us. This reality must change our perspective, change our lives and change our minds. From this reality there is a purpose, why has the Holy Spirit come to live within limited man? Jesus answered that question this way, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me”. The Holy Spirit brings the power to be witnesses, the power to bring glory to Jesus and the revelation of His saving grace to all men. The power we possess is not for our benefit, our blessing or even for use according to our understanding, we have been given the power to be witnesses of Jesus. I pray that we will walk in this power and that our lives would reflect God’s glory in such a way that all those around us will be challenged, affected and ultimately surrendered to Jesus.
