Over the last couple of weeks we have seen sin’s deception and it’s devastation. Sin begins with a lie of Satan and it’s ultimate outcome is death. Today I want to take our attention off of what sin tries to accomplish against us and place it on what Jesus has done for us and to sin. Romans 8 tells us first that “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Paul went on to write in the same chapter that Jesus condemned sin. When Jesus died for our sin, He paid it’s price, took away it’s power and restored to us the ability to be free. No matter what you have struggled or are struggling with, today, if you have surrendered your life to Jesus,  you are free from condemnation, free from guilt, from shame and even from sin’s power. John Piper writes “the only sin we can defeat is a forgiven sin.” I believe this to be true, but also it’s converse, the only sin that can defeat us is unforgiven sin. Stand firm and believe in your freedom, believe in Jesus’ victory and be secure in Jesus’ love. There is, right now, no condemnation for you. Live in the joy, the freedom and the beauty of being set free and made alive in Christ!
