When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules the people groan. Proverbs 29:2
Therefore, I will exhort that first of all supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence.
