Day 4: Seek God for Christ’s resurrection power 

“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.’” Revelation 1:17-18

Pray today:

-For Christians to encounter the risen Jesus in full recognition of the might of His glory.

-For the authority of Christ to liberate many from the power of sin, the fear of death or the deception of evil powers.

We have set aside every Tuesday as a day of prayer for our National leaders: President Obama, the Senate and the Congress. Each week we present a specific focus, birthed from Scripture, that we can agree and pray together.

Father, I pray that the peace of God would rule in the hearts of our National Leaders . . . and the word of Christ would dwell in them richly in all wisdom . . . and whatever they do in word or deed they would do all in the name of the Lord Jesus . . . Colossians 3:15-17  

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules the people groan. Proverbs 29:2

Therefore, I will exhort that first of all supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.  I Timothy 2:1-3

Giving is often viewed as a difficult topic to talk about in church. I believe that this is a wrong viewpoint. Giving is of the utmost importance. Our most quoted verse, John 3:16, tells us that “God so loved the world that He gave . . .” Today we are learning: 1. Giving must be motivated by love 2. Giving will reveal and increase trust and 3. Giving requires a sacrifice and reaps a reward.

I pray that we will be givers of all that God has given us. To be like Christ is to give freely of that which has been received freely.

Lord Jesus, “From the day you rose from the dead, those who are spiritually dead have been coming to live by the power of Your word. It’s time in our town for many to hear Your voice and live. Only Your voice gives life. A whisper from You can wake my friends. A word can wake my church. A shout can raise people throughout our city. Lift your voice, Son of God. Raise many to fullness of life.”

“Risen Jesus, we must answer yes to Your question. Yes, we believe that we will see the glory of God in our day. We set aside our despair. You were raised to overcome our broken hopes. We believe in You as the Risen One. Bring Your life to many, and with Your life, show Your brilliant glory.”
